A private entertainment, such as a dinner party, wedding, or play; public recreation, such as sports, concerts, and theatrical performances; or an activity that is both social and fun, such as children’s games. Entertainment has come to mean amusement, although it can also have serious purposes: a religious festival, ceremony, or act of satire may be entertaining while serving a greater purpose. See the articles on entertainment for more information.
